Tree Decorating

I sit here tonight listening to Christmas music on Pandora with Brad thinking about or fabulous day.  I really do just love this time of year and the memories of Advent and Christmas past and seeing the kids revel in Advent and Christmas present.

Today, the 3rd Saturday of December, was the annual tree decorating day.  I think this is my favorite day of the entire season.  We spend the day eating appetizers and Christmas baking, decorating the tree, watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music.  The kids each get a new ornament (or 2) which is always fun for me.

This year I hadn't gotten much baking done, but there was enough goodies for everyone.  I made a special trip to the grocery store earlier in the week for all the great food....good cheese and crackers, nacho cheese dip, artichoke dip, chex mix, fudge, cranberry bread, salami, veggies and dip and spinach dip with bread and egg nog (with a little added "Christmas Cheer" for some of us) and apple cider.

Mamma and Rosalia hanging out while I get food ready for the day

Poor Rosalia is fighting another cold.

Parker opening his ornament from us.

His two new ornaments (one from us and one from my parents)

Augustin loved his new ornament

Matthias and his light-up angel

Samuel

Don't mind the face on Veronica.  She was eating carrots and salami and I made her stop for a picture.  What the kids don't know is I take pictures of their ornaments as they open them so I can label them when they come off the tree and this way I don't forget what they got.

Augustin loves this ornament.  He was so excited to find it in his box.  It's so fun to watch them take out ornaments and "remember" them.

Mamma relaxing on the couch letting her foot heal.  She had an up close view of the decorating.

There were a lot of ornaments on this one area of the tree.

Look at all of that great food

Samuel gets so excited and exuberant.  I just love his energy and that smile

A little decorating in other parts of the house

Parker spent a good chunk of time working on the snow village for Mamma.  He loves this task

Look at all of those stockings.  Those are the grand children stockings...all 10 of them.  How blessed we are as a family!!!  Grant, Parker, Matthias, Augustin, Samuel, Evelyn, Oliver Veronica, Benedict & Rosalia...ranging in age from 15 years down to 3 months.

Parker is really enjoying the Christmas movies.  Here he is watching "Bells of St. Mary" this was after watching "White Christmas"

So another wonderful day spent together enjoying each others company, lots of great food and some more memories to remember as we continue to prepare for Christmas.
