Happy Birthday Brad!!!

It is my wonderful husbands birthday today.  He works extremely hard for all of us every day and we are so thankful and grateful for all he does for us, so we took some time today to try and make his day special.  His favorite cake is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, so we set out this morning to make one from scratch and then decorate it.

The kids all made him cards, some were presented this morning before he left for work and others tonight with cake.  It was one of those days where the kids were looking for something to do and wanted to make something for Daddy, but had no idea what to make.  So I brought out the pipe cleaners, much to the disappointment of the kids.  I know they were thinking, "what is the world are we going to do with these? Why can't we do something more fun?"

Little did they know how much fun they could be.  After a little prompting from me and a small demonstration on how to make people with them, they were off and running with it.  Pretty soon, Augustin was running all over the house decorating it for a party for Daddy.  I made and helped make more pipe cleaner people than I can count.  They added hair, things for them to hold, hung them from lights, added them to the cake and then Augustin decided to make a game to play.  There is nothing like good party games to add to the excitement.  Before I knew it they were all making their own scavenger hunts for Brad.  He had to find all the little people and they were crafting them until he walked into the house.  There were clues on paper and everything.
