Matthias received First Communion today. It was such a beautiful day. The Church was still decorated with all the Christmas Decorations and the Epiphany Sunday readings were beautiful. Fr Don said Mass which was extra special for Brad and I since he was one of the priests that con-celebrated at our wedding 7.5 years ago.
Matthias looked so handsome in his suit and was very excited for Mass to begin. He didn't seem nervous at all. We are so thankful that so many family and friends were able to help us celebrate this special day with him. We were especially excited to share this special day with our friends the Gallaher's. Their son Thomas received his First Communion as well. They are wonderful friends and it just added to the joy of the day.
Dressed up and waiting for Mass to being (while Mommy set up for the party)
The other kiddos hanging out before Mass. The lighting in the parish hall isn't great so my pictures don't look very good. And I some how missed getting a picture of Grant.
Matthias playing "peek-a-boo" with Veronica. Keeping her happy while she ate breakfast.
The boys had a beautiful (and delicious cake) made by a friend in the parish. She does beautiful work andher cakes are always delicious. We were very excited to see the cake this morning and were very overwhelmed with the cake. She took so much time to make their day special.
After Mass with Fr. Don
Matthias, Thomas and Fr. Don
Our new bishop, Bishop Peter Libasci, was saying the next Mass and he graciously took time out of his morning to spend time with Matthias and Thomas. He got right down and talked to Matthias and really made him feel special.
He then took the time to pose for a picture with both boys
