Triduum 2012: Holy Saturday

A second day home in a row with Brad, such a treat.  The day started off like Good Friday...sunny and very cool.  Brad treated us with a wonderful waffle, egg and bacon breakfast, the kids were thrilled.  What kid doesn't like waffles with berries, chocolate chips and whipped cream?

Grant, the elusive one, finally makes it into a picture.  Just waking up and thrilled to be eating his favorite breakfast food and at 14yrs old and almost 6ft tall he can eat a lot of waffles.  Look at that smile...he's a happy kid.

Good Morning, Parker

And not to be left out...Veronica

After a wonderful breakfast, we had a relaxing day and then enjoyed an early Easter dinner with my parents in the early afternoon. It was then time for baths, naps and relaxing as we waited with anticipation for the Easter Vigil.  We go every year even though the kids almost all fall asleep, it is just so beautiful and such a wonderful way to end the Triduum.

Veronica all dressed and ready to go.  Here she is modeling her new dress and Mamma's Thirty-One Gifts rosette clip that matched her dress perfectly.  The flower didn't last long, but she looked cute.

And the whole gang before Mass
By the end of Mass the only ones awake were Grant and Veronica.  Parker even fell asleep at one point, but was woken up before the Consecration.  Here is Miss Veronica, the non-sleeper, at 11:15pm, wide awake and while not entirely happy, she wasn't too crabby either.

We arrived home around mid-night and put all the little ones to bed. Grant and Parker put on their head lamps and went out into the back yard with the task of hiding the plastic eggs and the morning egg hunt...all 50 of them.  While they did that, the adults filled baskets and hid them for the kids to find.  Then we too went to bed knowing it would be an early morning because kids just don't sleep in even when up late.
