Father/Son Camping & Girls Weekend

The weekend after Father's Day is always Father/Son Camping through out church.  It is a weekend the boys (and Dad's) look forward to every year. I admit, the moms and daughters may be even more excited because it means GIRLS WEEKEND!!!!  It really is a win/win for everyone.

The boys couldn't wait to go again this year (we missed last year because we were on vacation).  They were packed and ready to head out with Papa before noon.

I then headed to drop the 2 big girls off with Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend. They couldn't wait.  After that Parker and I headed to help Mamma pack up her room and pick up some food for lunch and Parker's dinner at camp.

Parker headed off to camp for the weekend around 4pm and then it was officially girls weekend.

We started our weekend with dinner and mudslides at the Puritan to celebrate mom's retirement.  A few friends joined us.  We ended the night with a movie at home and looked forward to our Saturday; it was going to be busy.

Saturday was jam packed.  Beatrice spent 4 hours with Grandma and Grandpa.  Mom and I got coffee and then headed for a pedicure, followed by shopping and finally picking Beatrice up.

I headed to see Grant and Parker at their last Court of Honor for the year; we had great weather this year.

Mom and I enjoyed another girl movie and Chinese take-out for dinner.  Brad, Dad and the boys had a great time.  Cold night, but warmer days and finally plenty of sun.  This is a first for them...no rain.  There was lots of time in the pool and on the playground.  Lots of eating, s'mores were roasted and no Father/Son camping would be complete without Mass and then a movie on the "big screen" (sheet attached to a canopy) Saturday night.

And the chef for the weekend... Papa

Everyone was home by 1pm on Sunday and after cleaning up there were more water balloon fights and finally dinner.  Lots of happy and very tired children (and adults).  Everyone is looking forward to next year.

A few picture of the fun at home after the trip
