NINE already. Nine years old and growing up so quickly. I see the little boy leaving and the young man emerging; more quickly than I would like some days. I'd love to hold on to that chubby baby with the big round face, but that just isn't possible. He's been replaced by the long, thin young man with a great smile and fun personality.
For his birthday dinner he requested salmon patties, green salad (Watergate salad) and sweet potatoes. Since we no longer eat food with artificial colors, I made the pistachio pudding from scratch. It was only the second time and I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it was delicious and easier than I remembered. Everyone loved it too. Of course Dad's sweet potatoes and salmon patties were fabulous too.
We had a little silliness before dinner got started. I love the smiles from everyone.
Even Mamma was getting in on the fun
The birthday boy ready to eat
Samuel and Rosalia waiting for dinner...getting hungry
Matthias loves to dance so we had a "dance fiesta". I guess it required some resting between dances
And a pig-pile of Mamma
And of course...cutie pie Rosalia. I love that smile
Finally time for ice cream sundaes. I discovered we were out of birthday candles, so I guess a few tapers will be ok.
It was a very fun evening.
